'HIT AND RUN' HITS THE PRESS // 13.10.2006
This week's Leek Post & Times features a short article about Last ATAK Pictures shooting 'Hit and Run' last weekend.

VILLAGE THE SCENE FOR MOVIE MAKERS

Cheddleton could be hitting the big screen after a film was shot in the village at the weekend. Producer Andrew Davidson hopes his film Hit And Run - set in countryside close to Churnet Valley railway station - will be released in May next year to feature in film festivals across the country.

Andrew chose Cheddleton because of his familiarity with the area after studying at Staffordshire University.

He said: "Hit And Run focuses on a young girl who is hit by a car and left for dead at the side of the road. A guy then stumbles across her and waits with her until the emergency services arrive."

The 25 minute film explores the good Samaritan's reaction to the girl's fading health and also the sinister actions of the driver who committed the hit and run.

Andrew said: "A lot of people going past were very interested. They were happy to stop and chat and ask what we were doing which was really nice."

The film stars Darren McAree, who's from Longton, and he joined fellow actors who took time out to speak to Cheddleton residents on the set.
